As previously reported, today the trailer for the second season of Vinland Saga . The video confirms that the premiere is scheduled for January 2023 in Japan, and that production has indeed moved to MAPPA .
Director Shuhei Yabuta had previously confirmed that the team from the first season of Vinland Saga , previously animated by WIT Studio , would return for the second season.
Finally, the director wrote on Twitter: “ The flashy events will slow down and the pace of the story will slow down. However, the characters' emotions move with more strength and ardor. I promise it will be a unique experience like no other. I hope everyone enjoys the second season!”

Synopsis:
As a child, Thorfinn sat at the feet of the great Leif Ericson and thrilled to hear wild tales of a land far to the west. But his youthful fantasies were shattered by an unexpected attack by the Viking mercenary Askalaad. Raised by the Vikings who were responsible for his father's murder, Thorfinn became a fearsome warrior with the goal of killing the leader Askeladd for revenge.
