Director Manabu Ootsuka , CEO of the company MAPPA , wrote “ We want the anime to be the most important thing, not the company name or brand. Anime titles are everything. It would be enough for people to only know about our works, not MAPPA in particular .”
The quote had a tone of irony interpreted by the fan community in the comments:
- Of course, exploiting their employees and accepting wholesale projects to monopolize the industry... It seems very believable... Of course, we don't want MAPPA to be the name it's known for... As if no one in Zombieland Saga Revenge realized that MAPPA's name is as big as the series logo;

So the quote is in the book “ Mappa Book 10th Anniversary ”, published in the last quarter of 2021 as part of the 10th anniversary of the Mappa in Japan.
