The highly anticipated film adaptation of Witch on the Holy Night (Mahoutsukai no Yoru) has finally had its release date confirmed. During the special event “Mahōtsukai no Yoru Release Date Announcement Event,” the film will premiere in Japanese theaters on November 20, 2026.

In addition to the release date, the production confirmed the return of the main cast from the visual novel. Haruka Tomatsu returns as Aoko Aozaki, while Kana Hanazawa plays Alice Kuonji and Yusuke Kobayashi returns to the role of Soujyuro Sizuki.
The film Witch on the Holy Night is produced by the studio ufotable, known for its highly acclaimed adaptations within the industry.
Synopsis
Set in the late 1980s, the story follows Aoko Aozaki, heiress to a traditional lineage of modern magicians. Despite having no interest in magic, she is chosen to succeed her family and begins her training alongside the young witch Alice Kuonji.
Witch on the Holy Night originated as a novel created by Kinoko Nasu and Takashi Takeuchi in the 1990s. Later, it was adapted into a visual novel by Type-Moon and released in 2012. Finally, the title also has direct connections to franchises like Tsukihime and Fate/stay night, integrating the famous shared universe known to fans as the Nasuverse.
