During the Jump Festa 2019 event, the first trailer for the anime Kimetsu no Yaiba, by author Koyoharu Gotouge, was revealed . The new anime will premiere in April 2019.
The animation is entirely by studio ufotable (Fate/Zero, Kara no Kyoukai, Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu), directed by Haruo Sotozaki (Tales of Zestiria the X, Tales of Symphonia the Animation), and the character design is by Akira Matsushima (Maria Watches Over Us, Tales of Zestiria the X).
The story follows the kind-hearted boy Tanjirou, who lived peacefully with his family as a charcoal seller. His normal life changes completely when his family is murdered by demons. The only other survivor, Tanjirou's younger sister Nezuko, has become a ferocious demon. To return Nezuko to normal and avenge the demon who killed his family, the two embark on a journey. From a young talent, a tale of blood and swords begins!
