Despite significant growth in annual revenue, Silver Link once again recorded a fiscal loss at the end of March 2026. Known for anime such as Non Non Biyori, Watamote , and Strike the Blood, the studio has now accumulated three consecutive years of operating at a loss.

According to the recently released financial report, the company had operating losses of approximately 271 million yen, equivalent to nearly two million dollars. Interestingly, annual revenue grew by 32.1% compared to the previous period, indicating an increase in the volume of productions and contracts for the studio.

However, the growth was not enough to balance the books. This scenario reinforces an increasingly frequent problem within the Japanese animation industry: high revenue without proportional financial return. Several studios continue to produce more series, but face difficulties in transforming demand into sustainable profit.

Among the factors cited are high production costs, longer timelines, and a shortage of experienced animators in the market. These elements have drastically increased the budget of recent projects, including titles such as Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!.
