In her interview with Anime Trending , Kanna Hirayama receives a question regarding the design of the main characters and their striking eyes. The director understands that the star-like pupils are the essence of the characters, so she worked to make them very detailed and beautiful in the anime.

“The stars need to be done right, but also… The eyelashes. I was really interested in the eyelashes and the color of them too.

The upper part of the pupil is a bright color, and the line is drawn straight. This is because when the eyes or eyelashes are pointing downward, if the upper part of the brightly colored pupil is dark, the eyelashes are difficult to see. So, I decided to put a light color in the middle to increase contrast.

When you colorize an animation, it becomes one color. The amount of information from manga to anime is reduced. Therefore, by increasing the number of colors, you can achieve a manga-like effect.

Here's some art where you can see the eyelashes pointing downward. As I just said, the light purple is used to highlight it."

Furthermore, she is asked how she got involved with the project and the director reveals that she was the one responsible for suggesting the Oshi no Ko manga for an anime adaptation.

“Previously at Doga Kobo, I worked on an anime called SELECTION PROJECT as a character designer, and later, when I talked to the producer, Kobayashi-san, about what we were going to work on next, Kobayashi-san asked me if there was a manga or something I particularly liked. I said, ‘I like Oshi no Ko, it’s really interesting.’”

One day, Hoshino shows up at his office, claiming she's pregnant with twins, but her manager tells her to abort the babies. The idol doesn't want to abort; she wants both children. Gorou promises her a safe delivery. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure will result in his untimely death, or so he thought. However, upon opening his eyes in his beloved idol's arms, Gorou discovers he's been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino, 's newborn son ! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon discovers that the world of showbiz is full of controversies, where talent doesn't always bring success.
