World Trigger is on hiatus due to the author's health

World Trigger fans Jump SQ magazine announced on its official X account (formerly Twitter) that the series will not have a new chapter in the issue scheduled for February 4th. The reason, once again, is related to the health of the author, Daisuke Ashihara .

Since its debut in 2013, World Trigger has faced several interruptions due to Ashihara's failing health. In 2014, the author suffered from cervical spondylotic radiculopathy , a condition that causes compression of the nerves in the neck, resulting in severe pain and difficulty working. Since then, the manga artist has taken frequent breaks, although it has not been confirmed whether the current hiatus is related to this same condition.

Official statement from Jump SQ

In the next issue of Jump SQ, which will be released on February 4th, World Trigger will be on hiatus due to the author's poor health. We apologize to readers who have been eagerly awaiting the new chapter. It will resume with the following issue, on March 4th. We thank everyone for their understanding.

A success despite the pauses

Despite these challenges, World Trigger remains one of Jump SQ's most popular manga. However, the series has already sold over 15 million copies as of July 2023 and has three 99-episode seasons produced by Toei Animation .

World Trigger Synopsis

The story takes place in Mikado , where a dimensional rift opens, releasing creatures known as Vecinos , beings with advanced weaponry that pose a significant threat. To combat them, the Border Defense Agency , an organization that uses weapons called Triggers to combat this invasion.

With the manga's return scheduled for March, fans can only hope for Ashihara's recovery and stay tuned for updates. Finally, for more news about World Trigger and the world of anime, keep following AnimeNew !
