Takeru Hokazono 's manga Kagurabachi will be taking a one-week break in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. According to the 25th issue of Shueisha 's magazine , the author suffered a "sudden illness," forcing the cancellation of the chapter that was scheduled for publication this week.

Despite the absence of the new chapter, the work still appears normally on the promotional card for the issue. The correction didn't happen in time because of the magazine's printing process, although Kagurabachi is already confirmed for the next issue of Jump, scheduled for May 25th.

Kagurabachi's pause history

This isn't the first interruption the manga has experienced in 2025. Last year, Hokazono also had to pause serialization for a week due to health issues. Additionally, another pause occurred in October due to production reasons related to the series' schedule.

Released in September 2023, the manga quickly gained popularity among Jump readers. Currently, the series has around 4 million copies in circulation. Volume 11 was released in Japan in May, while the English edition remains available digitally through MANGA Plus and Shonen Jump.

Kagurabachi anime confirmed

All this success led to a TV anime adaptation, announced to premiere in April 2027. The production is being handled by Studio Cypic, formerly CygamesPictures.

The story follows Chihiro, the son of a renowned swordsmith. After a violent tragedy changes his life, the protagonist embarks on a quest marked by revenge and intense battles using special blades.
