The manga Kagurabachi will be adapted into an anime , with a premiere scheduled for April 2027. The production is being handled by Studio Cypic, formerly CygamesPictures. In addition, the team revealed the main cast, staff, teaser visual, and a first promotional video.

The aesthetics of the anime scenes bring together experienced staff

The anime will be directed by Tetsuya Takeuchi, known for his work on action scenes in Sword Art Online II and Heavenly Delusion. Character design will be handled by Keigo Sasaki, who worked on Blue Exorcist and The Seven Deadly Sins.

The protagonist Chihiro will be played by Taibi Kimura, winner of the Best Newcomer Actor award at the 2025 Seiyuu Awards. This choice reinforces the production's commitment to new talent with growing prominence in the industry.

The Story of Kagurabachi

The anime's story follows Chihiro Rokuhira, a young man who aspires to become a swordsmith. After an attack by a mysterious group of sorcerers, his life changes drastically. He sets out on a quest for revenge, wielding a special sword left behind by his father.

Published in Weekly Shonen Jump, Kagurabachi has already surpassed 4 million copies in circulation. Takeru Hokazono's work also won the Next Manga Awards 2024 in the print category, gaining prominence among popular new titles.

To promote the anime, the team announced a world tour featuring screenings of the first 20 minutes of the initial episode. The event will visit several countries and will include a special presentation in Japan with a complete screening of the first episode.
