The light novel Kimi to Hanabi to Yakusoku to (You, Fireworks, and Our Promise), by author Kaori Mado, will be adapted into an anime film. The movie is scheduled to premiere on July 17, 2026 , and features a romantic story connected to one of Japan's most symbolic festivals.

The story takes place during the Nagaoka Fireworks Festivalin Niigata, known for gathering thousands of people every year. It follows Makoto Natsume, a shy student from Tokyo, and Akira Hayama, a popular and self-assured girl. Their encounter happens through an illustration of fireworks, which ultimately connects their destinies.

In the main dubbing, Shori Sato plays Makoto, while Nanoka Hara directs Kei Suzuki, with a screenplay by Kohei Mori.
