The new anime Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- has been confirmed to premiere on the Netflix streaming platform . According to the official website, we have the first promotional image of the series.
Thus, the direction is by Takaharu Ozaki (Goblin Slayer) at LIDEN FILMS (Tokyo Revengers). Character design by Sayaka Ono (Cross Ange) with production by Warner Bros. Japan.
Synopsis
A grand and unique story, an alluring fantasy world, intense battles full of swords and sorcery, and cute heroines who were probably a little too daring for a boys' comic at the time. All this combined with the elaborate manga art makes Bastard!! the pioneer and pinnacle of dark fantasy manga, influencing countless works that followed.
Bastard became famous for its references to heavy metal, as well as the violent and sensual atmosphere of the anti-hero Dark Schneider.
Finally, the manga already received OVA adaptations in the early 90s.
