Berserk – Author reveals why he continued the manga without Kentaro Miura

Check it out:

Although Mori was unsure about continuing Berserk without the original author, he decided to take on this role as the story needed to continue.

“I thought maybe I could do this. I think Miura would be mad if I didn't do anything, so I made the decision.”

Furthermore, together with the Studio Gaga , he debated in several meetings what would be the best way to end his late friend's manga.

“During a three to four hour meeting, I explained the development to the Studio Gaga team. Afterwards, I exchanged personal messages with the boss. I gave recommendations on the drafts, but the final artwork is the work of Studio Gaga. The illustration skills on our team, including boss Kurosaki-kun, are extraordinary. I believe that after they finish Berserk, they will become artists who will leave their marks in the world of manga.”

Synopsis:

In a medieval and fictional world plunged into darkness, we meet Guts, the Black Swordsman, a mercenary marked by a brutal past. Previously, he was adapting to a different life when he joined the Banda do Falcão, led by Griffith, a leader with grandiose ambitions. However, the gang suffers a great tragedy when supernatural events begin to haunt them. After Griffith betrays his gang to gain power, Guts is marked by the Mark of Sacrifice. So, driven by his desire for revenge, he embarks on a journey to kill his former friend, who is now one of the five Apostles.

The acclaimed story of Berserk was created by Kentaro Miura in 1989 and continues to this day. However, the author passed away in 2021, leaving the manga unfinished. Now, the manga continues under the supervision of Kouji Mori Studio Gaga team . Mori was chosen to continue the manga, as he was a personal friend of Miura and also heard how the story would end.

Do you think Kouji was able to honor Miura's legacy? Finally, leave your comment below!
