Big Order – a work by author Sakae Esuno – will receive an anime adaptation scheduled for release in Spring 2016. The announcement also reveals the team that will be working on the series' production.
Nobuharu Kamanaka (Freezing, Robotics;Notes) is directing Asread, Katsuhiko Takayama (Aldnoah.Zero, Baka and Test) is writing the script, and Chika Kojima is serving as animation director and character designer.
The story follows "Hoshimiya Eiji," a lonely and antisocial boy, introverted and tormented by a wish he made ten years ago, the partial fulfillment of which caused a disaster where many people were killed and many others were affected, including his own younger sister. What was that wish? The destruction of the world. Since then, he has refused to use his powers as an "Order." But, ten years after the event, a new student transfers to Hoshimiya Eiji's class for a special reason. She is Kurenai Rin (another possessor of the Order ability), who wants revenge for the death of her parents
Esuno launched the supernatural series in Shonen Ace magazine in 2011.
