Asta and Yuno supposedly defeated Lucius Zogratis in the previous chapter, but the new sequence reveals that the villain was only beginning his true rise. Initially, the chapter begins with the Magic Knights celebrating the defeat of Lucius's clones. However, this relief is short-lived.
Rebecca notices something strange happening in the Towers of Grimoires. Soon after, Lucius returns in a new form, proclaiming himself the "Great Wizard Emperor".
As he explains, the grimoires scattered throughout the world are repositories of divine magic, and when a mage dies, their power returns to the Towers. Lucius, who connected himself to all of them with supreme magic, now possesses virtually unlimited power.

Meanwhile, Kaiser Granvorka and Revchi Salik, while crossing the Clover Kingdom, are captured by Lucius. Simultaneously, Mimosa loses contact with Marx Francois. Then, Lucius uses Revchi's Chain Magic to bind Yuno, and Marx's Memory Magic to force everyone to witness the protagonists' possible end.
Even though Ryudo tries to bolster Asta's resistance with Fujio's music, Lucius seems confident of victory. He even promises to revive Asta with magical powers, asking him to accept death. However, Yuno intervenes in time to save him.
However, the worst is yet to come. Lucius creates a shield in the appearance of Richita, Liebe's mother. Although they knew it was an illusion, Asta and Liebe hesitate—and it costs them dearly. Their bond is broken, and Lucius delivers a devastating blow.
Finally, chapter 379 shows that the battle against Lucius is far from over and that the villain still has powerful cards up his sleeve.

As announced, chapters 379 and 380 will be available on May 2nd, 2025 on MANGA Plus . The publication will have a total of 48 pages, including a special color page with Asta and his allies promising plenty of action.
