Square Enix has announced the digital release of Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster for Xbox Series X|S and PC. The version also supports the Xbox Play Anywhere feature and is already available on Steam. The announcement was accompanied by a new promotional trailer.

The remaster had previously debuted for Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5th, coinciding with the console's launch. Now, the company is expanding the reach of the classic RPG, allowing new players to experience the adventure on other modern platforms.

Classic Nintendo 3DS RPG returns in high definition

Originally released in October 2012 for Nintendo 3DS, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy is an RPG developed by Silicon Studio and published by Square Enix. The game combines turn-based combat with the "Brave & Default" system, which allows players to accumulate or spend strategic actions during battles.

Later, Square Enix released an enhanced version called Bravely Default: For the Sequel. It arrived in Japan in December 2013 and in the West in February 2014, bringing interface improvements and gameplay adjustments.

Expansion of the Bravely Default franchise

The series continued with Bravely Second: End Layer, released for Nintendo 3DS in 2015 in Japan and later in the West in 2016. The title maintained the classic RPG style with new mechanics and original characters.

Later, the franchise gained Bravely Default II, released in 2021 for Nintendo Switch and subsequently for PC via Steam. Additionally, Square Enix released the mobile game Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights for iOS and Android in 2022, ending its services in February 2023.

With its HD re-release, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy reinforces the series' presence on modern platforms. For more news about games and anime, keep following AnimeNews.
