In chapter 197 of Dandadan, Yukinobu Tatsu's manga delivers another explosive sequence of surreal action, featuring an aerial confrontation brimming with creativity, humor, and tension. With the threat of the "Human-Typhoon" in full attack, the protagonists must use absurd and incredibly effective solutions to confront a storm of sharks and save their plane.

A scene of pure chaos (and visual creativity)

The setting of chapter 197 of Dandadan mixes elements of air disaster with nonsensical science fiction. A colossal typhoon teeming with flying sharks swirls around a crashing plane, and the key to fighting back lies in the hands (or rather, the body) of "Minhocona," a giant creature resembling an alien worm that serves as both transport and defense for the group.

With everyone aboard the Minhocona, the group decides to counterattack the typhoon's force. Ayase Momo takes on a central role: she guides the creature to point its body towards the vortex, firing wind from its mouth and creating a kind of reverse propulsion, a trick described by the characters themselves as "a living kite." The result: the Minhocona begins to fly.

"We are flying!! The Great Serpent is flying!!"

Even though the idea seems absurd, the tactic proves functional. While one character pierces the Earthworm's body with their power to create a wind channel, the creature begins to rise towards the stratosphere, taking everyone with it.

A new objective: to destroy the eye of the typhoon

After managing to propel the giant worm and keep the team safe, albeit precariously, the group finally approaches the center of the storm. The chapter ends with a colossal image: a giant eye, with a texture similar to a cracked and living retina, hovers in the middle of the hurricane.

This moment serves as a turning point in the narrative. The group's objective is now clear: to destroy the core of the phenomenon. The mission ceases to be merely about survival and becomes offensive, marking an important shift in the team's approach.

The mission is now clear and puts not only their lives at stake, but the survival of all passengers and the aircraft itself amidst the storm. Between cries of despair, gusts of wind, flying sharks, and the emergence of a colossal "eye" in the center of the hurricane, the chapter ends with a promise of an even grander confrontation in the events to come.
