The anime Dandadan saw one of its most talked-about songs, "Hunting Soul," disappear from several streaming services in Japan. The track, performed by the fictional band HAYASii, appeared in episode 6 of the second season (episode 18 in total) and accumulated over 10 million views on YouTube.

Despite its success, the song was removed without official explanation from platforms such as Apple Music, AWA, Mora (Sony Music Solutions), Recochoku, and KKBOX. On Spotify, the system no longer lists Japan as an available country, while on Amazon Music the page displays only a generic link. Curiously, the song remains available on YouTube in Japan.

Possible conflict with Japan

The controversy arose after YOSHIKI, leader of the legendary group X JAPAN, commented on the similarity of "Hunting Soul" to the classic "Kurenai". However, the musician went on to tag streaming services on his social media and revealed that his lawyers had assessed the possibility of copyright infringement.

Even without confirmation of legal proceedings, the comment raised suspicions that the sudden removal of the banner is linked to this dispute.

The success of “Hunting Soul” among fans

Despite the controversy, the song became a phenomenon among anime fans and manga readers, who eagerly awaited the adaptation of this scene. Thus, the impact was immediate, with millions of views across different official versions on YouTube.

However, the anime series Dandadan is directed by Fuga Yamashiro and Abel Gongora, produced by the studio Science SARU, and is available on Netflix. The plot follows two high school students who, in a bet about the existence of ghosts and aliens, end up facing supernatural threats, gaining powers, and discovering unexpected feelings.
