Death Note: Killer Within , the multiplayer game from Bandai Namco , will receive new playable roles in the summer of 2025. This news was revealed during the company's Summer Showcase , which also announced games such as My Hero Academia: All's Justice and Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree .

Released on November 5, 2024 for PlayStation 4 , PlayStation 5 , and PC (Steam) , the game pits up to ten players against each other in intense matches between Kira 's team and the investigation team led by L. While Kira's followers attempt to eliminate targets with the deadly notebook, the investigators must uncover the true killer's identity and prevent further crimes.

New challenges and characters in Death Note

As shown in the latest trailer, players will be able to take on new roles, inspired by the chess pieces seen in the original anime. Therefore, in addition to familiar faces, other characters will add even more strategy to the matches.

The game is based on the famous manga Death Note, written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. The work was published between 2003 and 2006 in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and had an anime adaptation by MADHOUSE with 37 episodes.

Furthermore, the franchise has already inspired live-action films, dramas, extra manga, and a new Western adaptation that has been in development since 2022.
