The first Demon Slayer: Castle Infinite ( Kimetsu no Yaiba ) premiered exceeding expectations in Japanese cinemas. In just 10 days, the film surpassed the mark of 12.87 billion yen , about 80 million dollars. This makes it faster than Mugen Train , the previous record holder.

To date, more than 9.1 million tickets have been sold since the release on July 18. Because of this, many fans are already calling Akaza " the 50 billion yen man ," in reference to the move that made Rengoku the "40 billion yen man" during the franchise's previous success.

The film is the first in a trilogy adapting the Infinite Castle arc. Still, it's important to highlight: the numbers are impressive not only for the speed of its box office earnings, but for the real possibility of breaking all previous records. Although outside of Japan the success may not be as extreme, the expectation is still to surpass Mugen Train globally.

The international premiere begins in August, with confirmed releases in Asian countries. In Australia, the film arrives on September 11th. In the US, UK, and Canada, it will be shown from September 12th. In Latin American countries like Brazil, the release will take place on September 11th, 2025.

What can we expect from the next films?

There are still no confirmed release dates for films 2 and 3. However, rumors suggest that Sony plans releases every two years — which would place the second part in 2027 and the finale in 2029. With this, there is even speculation about a possible fourth film or a new season covering the final arc.
