This week, the 3rd season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba came to an end and they have already announced a sequel to adapt the Training with the Hashiras . However, after this mini-training arc, the series will enter its final arc. A new article from Japanese website Myjitsu addresses the possibility of the final arc being adapted as a film in the anime.
Demon Slayer – Final arc of the manga will be adapted into a film or series?
Training with the Hashiras will be a brief preparation for the characters' final battle, which will arrive in the next arc ( The Infinite Castle ). Many fans speculate that the final arc will be a film, but this story is too long for a film adaptation. According to a source, it will not be easy to adapt Infinite Castle, whether in a season or a film, because it is an arc of 69 chapters.
However, it would be possible to adapt the arc by splitting it into two parts with a TV season followed by a film. In this sense, I would divide the manga's major arc into 43 chapters for the first part and 26 for the second. In other words, a season of two courses followed by one or two films to finish the anime.
Synopsis:
After defeating Upper Moon 6 in the Entertainment District, Tanjiro needs to go to the blacksmith village to forge a new sword, as his old weapon was damaged. However, on the way, he comes across new demons sent by Muzan, the main villain of the plot, with the mission of killing the blacksmiths. Without blacksmiths, hunters will have no swords to fight demons. So Tanjiro and his friends have to fight the demons of the Upper Moons again to stop them.
Therefore, the 1st season of Demon Slayer premiered in April 2019 , making the film a successful phenomenon. The second season premiered on December 5, 2021 in Japan. Finally, the 3rd season premiered on Crunchyroll after the release of the film To the Swordsmith Village – World Tour on February 2 in Japan.
