The new live-action Detective Pikachu didn't fall behind and came in strong with this second trailer showcasing Mewtwo.
Based on the video game franchise and anime, the movie featuring the pocket-sized creatures will premiere in theaters on May 10, 2019.
The film is produced by Legendary Entertainment, with Ryan Reynolds voicing Pikachu, Justice Smith (The Get Down), Kathryn Newton (Big Little Lies), Ken Watanabe (Godzilla), and Rita Ora (Fifty Shades Freed). The film is directed by Rob Letterman (Shark Tale, Monsters vs. Aliens, Goosebumps) and written by Nicole Perlman and Alex Hirsch (Guardians of the Galaxy and Gravity Falls).
In the trailer, we can see the first appearance of the legendary Mewtwo.
Finally, distribution in Japan is handled entirely by TOHO, while in the rest of the world it will be distributed by Universal Pictures.
