Moving from manga to television, the new anime series Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii (Even So, The World is Beautiful) by Dai Shiina .
The manga revolves around Nike , a determined princess who possesses a mysterious power: she can control rain. After losing a game of rock, paper, scissors to her older sisters, she is forced to marry the king of the Kingdom of the Sun, Livius I. Livius conquered the world in three years and is known as the "Terrible King." However, when Nike meets him for the first time, she discovers, to her surprise, that he is a younger boy than she is. Livius abruptly asks Nike to summon the rain, and when she refuses, he has her thrown into jail. The story follows the two who, though at first a couple in name only, gradually begin to establish an emotional bond with each other.
Shiina said about the announcement that she is very happy and added: "I'm looking forward to finding out how the Nike song will turn out."
Shiina wrote two one-shots for the manga in 2009 and 2011 in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine, and then launched the complete series in the same magazine in 2012. Hakusensha will publish the sixth compiled volume on January 20.
