The anime From Overshadowed to Overpowered ( Rakudai Kenja no Gakuin Musou ) has had its first official teaser released, confirming its premiere for July 2026. The adaptation is based on the manga by Kentarou, derived from the light novel written by Arata Shiraishi .

The production follows the manga version, which has slight differences from the original title. The story follows Ephtal, a young man reincarnated in a magical world, where he decides to dedicate his life to the study of magic, even facing initial limitations.
In the main cast, Shūichirō Umeda plays the protagonist Ephtal. Anastasia will be voiced by Reo Osanai, while Marin will be voiced by Haruka Shiraishi. Hisashi Ishii directs at EMT Squared . Deko Akao supervises the script, with character designs by Hideki Furukawa.

From Overshadowed to Overpowered is a fantasy manga that follows a protagonist who is reincarnated twice. After failing to master magic in his first life, Ephtal returns 400 years later with accumulated knowledge and decides to reach the pinnacle of magical power.
The work began as a web novel and was later published by Kadokawa in physical format. The manga, launched in 2019 on the Manga UP! service, already has eight published volumes and will be released in 2025.
Finally, Square Enix is distributing the title on the Comikey platform, expanding its reach outside of Japan.
