The new film “Gintama -Yoshiwara on Fire-” has had its premiere confirmed for February 13, 2026.It promises to reignite the flame of the saga with a completely new animation for fans.
The production is based on the Yoshiwara Enjō-hen from manga 's Hideaki Sorachi, and will be animated by BN Pictures, with distribution by Warner Bros. Japan.
Synopsis
The plot follows Gintoki, Shinpachi , and Kagura in an intense battle in the underworld of Yoshiwara. This is an underground city controlled by the feared "King of the Night," Hōsen. In addition to classic characters like Tsukuyo, Kamui, and Hinowa, the film will feature new appearances. Characters such as Katsura, Kondō, Hijikata, Okita , and Yamazaki , who did not appear in the original version of the arc, will also be featured.
Finally, the film is directed by Naoya Ando, supervised by Yoichi Fujita , and written by Taku Kishimoto. This ensures an experienced team at the helm of this highly anticipated adaptation.
