The plot takes players to a mysterious "afterlife of the gods." Although Faye was introduced as deceased in the main games, she emerges in this new setting attempting to escape the entities Sekhmet and Betgse. Throughout her journey, the heroine seeks to understand her powers while facing supernatural threats.
Gameplay focuses on frantic action
However, the presentation video showed combat focused on fast-paced action, reminiscent of the early God of War and games like Devil May Cry. In addition to the intense battles, Faye will have the help of a curious companion named Phranque, a cosmic cube voiced by Jack Quaid.
Faye faces a divine threat

In the final moments of the gameplay, the protagonist faces a powerful entity responsible for dominating and enslaving gods in that realm. The confrontation suggests that the story will explore new mythologies and expand the universe already established by the franchise.
As of now, God of War: Laufey has not received an official release date. The title is confirmed for the PlayStation 5.
