Gokushufudou gets a live-action adaptation in October

NTV announced manga Gokushufudou (The Way of the House Husband) Kousuke Oono will receive a live-action in October of this year.

The series will star Hiroshi Tamaki (Nodame Cantabile, Ooku: The Inner Chambers) as the protagonist Tatsu, with Toichiro Ruto (Ossan Love) as director and Uda Manabu (99.9 -Keiji Senmon Bengoshi-) as one of the screenwriters.

Synopsis

Tatsu the "immortal" is a former yakuza who abandoned a life of violence to become a stay-at-home dad and support his salaried wife Miku, but even so, he manages to get into trouble; however, instead of fights in dark alleys, they are arguments over discounts at the supermarket.

Previously, the manga had already received a brief live-action adaptation in December of last year in a commercial starring Kenjiro Tsuda as Tatsu and Maaya Sakamoto as Miku, check it out below:

Furthermore, Gokushufudou by Kousuke Oono has been published by Shinchosha in Brunch Comics (print) and Kurage Bunchi (digital) since February 2018, currently having 5 volumes. In 2018, Gokushufudou ranked first in the Overall and Comedy categories in Pixiv's Comic Ranking and second in the "Nationwide Bookstore Employees' Recommended Comics of 2018".
