Gundam x Hatsune Miku: Collab gets a music video and new artwork

The collaboration between the Gundam and the Vocaloid Hatsune Miku is expanding. The celebration released a new music video, several illustrations, merchandise, and even a fan art contest to celebrate March 9, 2025.

The pronunciation of the date “03/09” in Japanese creates a play on words with “mi-ku” and “za-ku”, making March 9th special as Miku Day and Zaku Day.

The official website for the collaboration released a music video featuring Miku, with the song titled "Idol Senshi," composed by Mitchie M. In the video, Miku travels through the entire franchise. The song's melody incorporates elements that reference different opening themes from the Gundam anime.

The promotional team presented illustrations of Miku wearing different Mobile Suits seen in various stories from the anime. Check out some of them:

Among the merchandisingare t-shirts, keychains, badges, hats, towels, and acrylic stands.

The website revealed that a set of action figures from the collaboration is scheduled for release sometime in 2025. This includes the Lucrea Hatsune Miku x Wing Gundam Zero EW and Lucrea Hatsune Miku x OO Gundam.

The website also announced a contest fan art; those interested can register between March 19 and May 12, 2025.The artwork must contain elements that reference Gundam and Miku.

The collaboration will also extend to the arcade games Taiko no Tatsujin and Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. 2 Infinite Boost. In addition, it will result in a concert called “Hatsune Miku x Gundam Digital Live”.

The team in charge has not yet released any information about the show and the games.
