This year, the new edition of Kodansha's Evening GUNNM ( Battle Angel Alita ) manga titled (Battle Angel Alita: The Martian War Chronicles) will arrive on October 28th in issue 22 of the magazine.
In the story, the cyborg “mechanical angel” Gally (Alita in the English translation) goes to Mars to discover her roots and seek the truth about herself. (Kasei Nendaiki is the Japanese title of Ray Bradbury's famous science fiction short story collection, The Martian Chronicles.)
Kishiro revealed in January that he would start a new series in the second half of 2014, once he finished Battle Angel Alita: Last Order (Gunnm: Last Order) on January 28.
Battle Angel Alita is a work by Kishiro that was released in Shueisha magazine between 1990-1995. The original story of the manga continues in a Mad Max-style post-apocalyptic scenario in which a city called Zalém floats in the sky and where cyborgs and humans live together. In this situation, cybernetic engineer Daisuke Ido finds the trunk of an inert cyborg in the Scrap City garbage dump, which is located below Zalém, and takes it to his workshop where he reconnects it.
