Sam's new journey arrives with a stellar cast and existential dilemmas
In the second chapter of the franchise, Sam Porter Bridges returns on a mission to save what remains of humanity. Alongside new characters, he explores regions beyond the former UCA (Union of American Cities), facing supernatural threats and a central dilemma: should we have connected? This question runs through the narrative, marked by themes such as isolation, bonds, and social reconstruction.
The main cast once again features Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, and Troy Baker. Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and Oscar-winning filmmaker George Miller make their series debuts. Visual production continues under the direction of Yoji Shinkawa, while the soundtrack is composed by Ludvig Forssell. Kyle Cooper returns as title designer.

A special panel at SXSW presented new information about the game
Kojima Productions highlighted Death Stranding 2: On the Beach at a panel during the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, ahead of the start of the world tour. Hideo Kojima was present alongside Norman Reedus, Troy Baker, and French artist Woodkid, revealing previously unseen footage and production details. The event served as a preview for the in-person events that will take place around the world in the coming months.
The expectation is that each city on the tour will host exclusive events, with the participation of special guests. In São Paulo, Kojima's visit is expected to attract thousands of fans, repeating the success of the creator's previous visits to Brazil. Since the announcement of the sequel, the title has been among the most anticipated games of 2025 for the PS5.
Kojima Productions will release the game with special editions and bonus items
With a release date set for June 26th, the game is already available for pre-order at select retailers and on the PlayStation Store. Special editions will be offered with collectible gifts, extra content, and digital items. This production reinforces Sony's investment in the franchise and the global presence of Kojima, one of the most influential figures in the gaming industry.
