Microsoft , and the browser's new mascot is named Inori Aizawa. In the advertising clip titled "Internet Explorer 11: The Anime," the new personification of Internet Explorer starts out defenseless against the dangers of the dark side of the internet, but receives special powers to fight for freedom on the web, engaging in a brawl against an army of robots.

There are several references to the Microsoft universe, such as the company logo and a command interface reminiscent of the Windows desktop.

Several anime series, such as Sailor Moon and Neon Genesis Evangelion, are among the animations honored, and the idea seems to be aimed at attracting fans of Japanese culture. The piece was launched for exhibition at the 2013 Anime Festival Asia (AFA), but it seems that the browser's campaign will continue to use Inori if the character gains popularity.
