The next episode of the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will begin adapting the Shibuya Incident , but the anime episode won't air until August 31st. This means the anime will have a 4-week hiatus until then.

Episode 5 of the second season concluded the adaptation of the Hidden Inventory , which explores the past of Satoru Gojo and Suguro Geto . Therefore, the next episode will return to the current timeline of Jujutsu Kaisen, focusing on Yuji Itadori . The Shibuya Incident arc will have a total of 18 episodes this season. In addition, they also announced the anime's new theme song, called " SPECIALZ ," by the band King Gnu .

Synopsis:

The story follows Yuji Itadori, a high school student who becomes involved with a secret society of sorcerers called Jujutsu Kaisen, who fight against curses, evil beings that haunt the world of the living. To protect his friends and innocent people, Yuji decides to join the Jujutsu sorcerers as a trainee under the tutelage of Satoru Gojo, the strongest sorcerer of them all.

The first season of the anime premiered in October 2020 and had 24 episodes animated by studio MAPPA . The studio also handled the animation for the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 , which takes place a few years before the main series and tells the story of young Yuta Okkotsu.
