The controversial appearance of Nobara Kugisaki in the final battle against Sukuna in the Jujutsu Kaisen brought an unexpected revelation. After suffering a fatal blow in his fight against Mahito , Nobara was absent for four years.

The few mentions of the character during this period suggested her death rather than a return. However, Gege Akutami , the series creator, kept Nobara as a final trump card against Sukuna. Her Resonance proved powerful enough to cause serious damage to the enemy by hitting any part of their body.

Jujutsu Kaisen Nobara

In the fight, Nobara strikes Sukuna, further aggravating his already weakened condition. This opens the way for Yuji and Megumi to finish off the villain, with Yuji delivering the final blow while Megumi, recently saved, provides support. After the battle, Nobara receives a letter from Satoru Gojo , who reveals that he has found his mother. Curiously, Akutami introduces Nobara's mother only in the epilogue, indicating a deliberate plan to end the story in an impactful way.

Nobara reunites with her mother in the epilogue of Jujutsu Kaisen.

The 16-page epilogue of Jujutsu Kaisen dedicates space to showing the fate of characters like Nobara, Yuko, Panda, and Uraume, reserving four pages for each. In Nobara's case, she reacts with some irritation upon learning about her mother—an absent and irresponsible figure she hadn't seen in years. Even showing indifference, Nobara decides to respect Gojo's last wish and agrees to organize the reunion. Raised by her maternal grandmother, who possessed a subtle level of cursed energy, Nobara uses this bond to make the reunion possible.

A complex and conflict-ridden relationship

In the epilogue, Nobara's mother reveals that she was a sorceress without talent. Nobara, however, is direct in her response that the problem was never a lack of mystical abilities—but rather a lack of responsibility as a mother. Despite the years that have passed, the woman seems unchanged: she continues to lead a dissolute life, sustained by relationships with wealthy and younger men.

In an unexpected turn of events, Nobara decides to include her grandmother in the reunion. To her mother's dismay, the old woman appears with a stern expression, ready to confront her daughter about decades of irresponsibility. Reconciliation between mother and daughter is clearly impossible, but the encounter provides Nobara with a necessary emotional closure. With a touch of humor amidst the drama, the epilogue of Jujutsu Kaisen concludes this troubled relationship with a blend of tension and comic relief.
