Episode 5 of the third season of Jujutsu Kaisen surprised audiences with a rare artistic choice for action anime. In its Crunchyroll, the production delivered almost four full minutes in a single take, without cuts, using rotoscoping from beginning to end.

The technique, based on superimposing real footage onto the animation, gave the scene an unexpected cinematic weight. Furthermore, the visual impact differs from the manga , but that's precisely why it works. The MAPPA studio adaptation takes risks and creates its own identity.

The most talked-about detail came from behind the scenes. The series director himself, Shouta Goshozono, acted as the movement model for Yuji Itadori. Therefore, each of the character's gestures directly reflects his physical performance. Meanwhile, the episode director, Masaomi Andou, played Hakari, a choice made due to the physical differences between the two.

While some viewers are still debating faithfulness to the original material, the overall reception has been extremely positive. On social media, fans praised the direction, the fluidity of the movements, and the courage of the team. Therefore, the episode reinforces that the third season is betting heavily on visual language and is not afraid to reinvent itself.
