The author Miura was born in 1966 and launched the manga Berserk in Hakusensha's Monthly Animal House magazine in 1989. However, its sequel became immortalized in the Young Animal magazine, also published by Hakusensha.

Synopsis:

Set in a dark fantasy world inspired by medieval Europe, the story revolves around the solitary Guts, a former mercenary and now a cursed swordsman forced to wander restlessly to survive and seek revenge, and Griffith, the leader of a band of mercenaries called the "Band of the Hawk".

Thus, the work was adapted into an anime series in 1997, as well as a film trilogy between 2012 and 2013. In 2016, a new anime was released, premiering in Japan in July of the same year, with its second part arriving in April 2017.

Ultimately, Miura's work sold over 40 million copies and inspired three anime series and a film trilogy.
