Square Enix surprised fans during the Nintendo Direct by confirming that Kingdom Hearts IV will also be released for the Nintendo Switch 2. The new action RPG will arrive simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, although the company has not yet announced an official release date.

The reveal came with a new trailer, marking one of the most important updates to the project since its announcement in 2022. Additionally, the PC version will be available on the Microsoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store.

This collection brings together the entire main saga

Therefore, along with the announcement of Kingdom Hearts IV, Square Enix revealed Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III], a compilation that brings together the main titles of the franchise in a single package for Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

The collection includes the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue , and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind. On the Switch 2, players will be able to transfer their saved data from previously released cloud versions to the Nintendo Switch. The company also confirmed discounts for those who already own these versions.

Franchise continues to expand platforms

The series created by Square Enix continues to be one of the most popular in the action RPG genre. Released in 2019, Kingdom Hearts III surpassed the mark of five million copies sold in just a few weeks, becoming the fastest-selling game in the franchise's history.

Finally, since the reveal of Kingdom Hearts IV and Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link in 2022, little information had been released. Now, with confirmation for the Switch 2 and a new trailer, anticipation for the next chapter in Sora's adventure is growing again.
