The official website for the light novel adaptation of author Nagomu Torii's (Kyōkai no Kanata) anime has released a short video of the first TV commercial for the anime . In the 16-second video, the heroine Mirai Kuriyama asks the viewer, "Do I look like a normal human being?"

Taichi Ishidate (responsible for Clannad After Story, Hyoka, K-ON!) is directing the anime at Kyoto Animation, and Jukki Hanada (Gakuen Alice, Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!, Steins;Gate) is writing the series script. The anime is scheduled to premiere on Japanese TV in mid-October.
