Bandai Namco has just revealed details about the LINK TRAVELERS project, a multi-platform franchise integrating shokugan (collectible candy) and gashapon (capsule) toys. The musical highlight is “Transcendence,” the main theme performed by Angelina 1/3, star of the band Gacharic Spin and one of the most recognized voices in contemporary Japanese rock. The track, composed by Eijun Suganami (THE BACK HORN), is now available globally on digital platforms.

This release marks Bandai's expansion into the collectibles market, following the resounding success of the Gashapon Quest line. LINK TRAVELERS promises to revolutionize the segment with highly detailed figures, interchangeable parts, and an engaging narrative that invites fans to customize their own adventures. Pre-orders, which opened in November 2024, sold out in record time, anticipating the success of the line, which arrives in stores in May 2025.

The creation of “Transcendence”: A musical journey

The choice of Angelina 1/3 to perform the theme song was no accident. Known for her powerful voice and charisma on stage, the artist brings a unique energy to the song, which speaks of overcoming challenges and freedom, central themes in the narrative of LINK TRAVELERS. In a statement, she reveals that she was inspired by the characters in the franchise, who "fight against the darkness in search of light.".

The creative process involved Hana, drummer of Gacharic Spin, whose intense twin bass drum rhythms add weight and drama to the composition. Eijun Suganami, responsible for the production, explains that he sought to create an epic sound, capable of transporting the listener to the game's universe. "We wanted something that sounded like an escape from routine, an explosion of freedom," he says.

K. Sawa, head of franchise development at Bandai, describes the partnership with Angelina and Suganami as "a fateful encounter." He emphasizes that the music not only complements the game's visuals but also amplifies its emotional experience. The first promotional video, released on April 28, has already accumulated millions of views, demonstrating the project's potential to become a cultural phenomenon.

In addition to toys, Bandai plans to expand LINK TRAVELERS into other media, including possible animated adaptations and digital games. Meanwhile, fans can immerse themselves in this universe through the soundtrack and official video, available on YouTube. With a top-notch team and an innovative concept, the franchise promises to leave its mark on the Japanese and international entertainment world.
