announced Shinji Higuchithat the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) will consist of two films, scheduled for release next summer in Japan. The films are being shot in Nagasaki Prefecture and on Hashima Island.
Higuchi stated thatthe films are being closely followed by the manga creator Hajime Isayama, and the story will be based on the world he created. Yusuke Watanabe (Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, live-action Gantz, Gatchaman) is writing the entire screenplay for the film. Film critic Tomohiro Machiyama, who is also a friend of Isayama, is working in conjunction with the screenplays.
The Shingeki no Kyojindepicts the battles between humans and the giants who now rule the outside world beyond the walls.
