Live-action Homunculus gets a teaser trailer and more cast members

The live-action film inspired by Hideo Yamamoto 's Homunculus has released a teaser trailer and announced four new cast members.

Furthermore, the film premieres on April 2, 2021. In addition to its theatrical release in Japan, it will also be available on Netflix worldwide.

New cast members (from left to right)

  • Ryo Ito as Manabu Ito
  • Yukino Kishii as a "mysterious woman"
  • Seiyo Uchino as the head of the Yakuza
  • Anna Ishii from the E-girls group as a high school student

Takashi Shimizu creator of the Ju-On horror franchise , is directing the film. Gou Ayano (pictured below) will star as the protagonist Susumu Nakoshi.

Synopsis

This psychological horror story centers on a man who agrees to let a medical student drill a hole in his head to pay his bills. However, as a result of this experiment, the man's sixth sense awakens, and the resulting side effects haunt his life and the lives of those around him.

Finally, Hideo Yamamoto's manga Homunculus launched in Shogakukan 's Weekly Big Comic Spirits in 2003 and ended in 2011.
