Macross Delta (Macross Δ) – The new series in the Macross franchise following Frontier has received a new promotional video. A special will be shown in Japan later this year, but the series premiere date has not yet been confirmed.
The animation is being handled by studio Satelight, the direction is by Kenji Yasuda (Arata: The Legend, Noein), and the character design is by Yuu Shindou (Persona 4 the Golden Animation).
The franchise began in 1982 with The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, followed by two more series , Macross 7 and Macross Frontier, several films starting with The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?, and various OVAs (including Macross II, Macross Plus, Macross Dynamite 7, and Macross Zero).
