The creator of the manga AZU announced on his Twitter that the manga Magical Sempai ( Tejina Senpai ) will end with its eighth volume. AZU assured readers that the manga is not ending due to cancellation and stated that the ending will not be emotional, but will continue with the comedy as before. AZU also announced that the seventh volume of the manga will be published on July 6th.

Magical Sempai by author AZU has been published by Kodansha in Weekly Young Magazine since February 2016, currently with 6 volumes. The manga recently received a spin-off, "Isekai Senpai – Tejina Senpai wa Kono Sekai de mo Ponkotsu na Yo Desu" (loose translation: Isekai Senpai: It Seems That Tejina Senpai Is a Glitch in This World Too), written by Shotan and published by Ichijinsha in Manga 4-Koma Palette since November 2019. Magical Sempai also received an anime adaptation in 2019, produced by Liden Films and licensed by Crunchyroll, consisting of 12 15-minute episodes released between July and September.
