McDonald 's Japan has announced a unique collaboration with Saint Seiya (Knights of the Zodiac), a franchise created by Masami Kurumada. The campaign gained prominence on social media after the company posted an image of Seiya's classic Pegasus along with the phrase "That light... is Pegasus?!", increasing the curiosity of fans.

Snacks inspired by regions of Japan

The collaboration brings three themed burgers based on regional Japanese dishes. Among them are the Hokkaido Potato Cheese Teriyaki, inspired by Hokkaido, the Nagoya Chicken Wings-Style Black Pepper Juicy Chicken, and the Hakata Mentai Butter Teriyaki. These items will be available for a limited time on the Japanese menu starting May 20th.

In addition, McDonald's released special commercials using the song "Pegasus Fantasy," the classic opening theme from the 1980s anime. The videos highlight the burgers individually and feature comedian Seiya Ishikawa, from the duo Shimofuri Myōjō.
