Musaigen no Phantom World — The new anime from Kyoto Animation (K-ON, Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!) arriving in 2016 has received its first promotional video, introducing the characters.
The series is based on the light novel by the author "Sōichirō Hatano's", the anime is directed by "Tatsuya Ishihara" (Suzumiya Haruhi, Sound! Euphonium), and "Kazumi Ikeda" (Clannad, Chunibyo) designs the characters.
The story takes place in the near future, in a world born from human imagination. In this world, strange beings called "Ghosts" appear. The main character, Haruhiko Ichijou, a first-year high school student at Hosea Academy, along with his senior Mai Kawakami, fights against the ghosts using the power of the "Spirit of the Five Elements." Izumi Reina masters the "Ghost Eater" ability, and Koito Minase battles them alone. The four students experience the ups and downs of school life until a certain incident reveals the truth of this world to them.
The premiere will take place in January on the ABC Asahi, Tokyo MX, TV Aichi, and BS11 channels.
