Nanatsu no Taizai is one of the most popular manga in Japan, captivating thousands of fans in both the East and the West, but the story may have revealed its ending date.
Despite its anime's considerable success, the story's ending may come sooner than expected.
The 23rd issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine revealed that the manga will reach its climax in the next issue on May 15th.
The next chapter, the 310th in the series, will be titled “Farewell, The Seven Deadly Sins” .
Suzuki stated in an August interview in Kadokawa's Da Vinci magazine that he was planning to conclude the manga within a year, after approximately 40 volumes of story. He declared that he had the ending planned from the beginning and that he intends to give it an ending worthy of a shounen magazine.
The mangaka also revealed that any continuation of the manga will depend on the editors of Weekly Shōnen Magazine, and that in the future, his next work may have baseball as its main theme.
Suzuki launched the original manga in Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2012.
The first 24-episode anime series was released in 2014 and 2015. A four-episode anime special titled The Seven Deadly Sins -Signs of Holy War was released in August 2016. The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments, the second anime series, premiered in January 2018.
The manga also inspired the film The Seven Deadly Sins the Movie: Prisoners of the Sky, which premiered in Japan last August.
