The FX channel has released another teaser for its new vampire TV series, created by Guillermo del Toro , called The Strain . The series is a "vampire bioterrorism" thriller that tells the story of an outbreak in the US of a virus that kills or transforms those exposed into vampires.
The Strain will follow Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), head of the Centers for Disease Control in New York. He and his team are called in to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with characteristics of an ancient strain of vampirism. As the virus spreads, Ephraim, his team, and a handful of ordinary New Yorkers must fight to protect the fate of humanity.
Del Toro will direct the series pilot, which will air in July.
