The next generation of Nintendo's console, the long-awaited “Nintendo Switch 2”, had details revealed earlier than expected. Accessories manufacturer Dbrand released information about the design and dimensions of the device, confirming rumors and generating expectations among fans. The leak happened through an advertisement on the company's website, accompanied by images of a case designed for the new device.

The dimensions of the Switch 2, released by Dbrand CEO Adam Ijaz, show that it will be larger than the Switch OLED. The new model will be 270mm wide, 116mm high and 14mm thick, while the console itself will be around 200mm wide. For comparison, the Switch OLED is 242mm x 102mm x 13.9mm. These changes indicate that Nintendo is investing in a larger screen and improvements in ergonomic design.

Redesigned design and new technical details of the Nintendo Switch 2
In addition to the increase in size, the Switch 2 will feature an 8-inch screen and a more robust 55 mm stand. The Joy-Cons, the console's detachable controls, will have a magnetic attachment system, with an ejection button on the back. Therefore, this detail promises to facilitate handling and offer greater safety in use.
Another point that caught attention was the appearance of an additional button on the Joy-Cons, identified with the letter “C”. It is not clear what its function will be, but it is speculated that it could replace the current model's capture button or have a new functionality. Dbrand also highlighted that its design includes more pronounced curves in the controls, prioritizing ergonomics.
The premature disclosure generated comments about Nintendo's strategy for presenting the console. According to sources close to the market, such as The Verge and Insider Gaming, they point out that the official announcement of the Switch 2 should take place in January 2024, with launch scheduled for a few months later.
Thus, the leak confirms the attention to detail in the development of the Switch 2, such as technical and aesthetic adjustments that seek to improve the player's experience. It remains to be seen how Nintendo will react to these leaks and what surprises are yet to come.
