The chapter begins exactly where the previous one ended: Luffy is confused about why he has to fight Scopper Gaban, the legendary member of the Roger Pirates. Zoro, in turn, reflects on Colon's words regarding the power of Luffy's father, increasing the tension.
Luffy tries to grab the key Gaban is holding, but Gaban coats it in Haki and smashes Luffy into the ground, generating black sparks on impact. The scene is so intense that even Nami and Road are shocked. Furious, Luffy counterattacks with a series of extended blows, but Gaban easily dodges them, demonstrating his superior skill.
In a playful exchange, Gaban comments on Luffy's straw hat, comparing it to the helmet he previously wore. Luffy, annoyed, defends the hat as a treasure left by Shanks, while Gaban plays along. His hybrid appearance and the white clouds surrounding him suggest that he possesses an awakened Devil Fruit.
The Plan of the Divine Knights
Shamrock questions why two Holy Knights were summoned when only one was needed. Gillingham explains that Shamrock was recalled to the Holy Land by higher orders. Meanwhile, Sommers expresses admiration for Elbaph and asks if Shamrock is visiting Harald's tomb.
The chapter ends with a striking scene: the four Holy Knights observe the children of the Walrus School from atop a giant branch, suggesting that great events are to come.
