The story begins by revealing that the king of Esperia lied to his people. Shuri explains to Brook that the World Government didn't demand a thousand slaves, but rather that she be handed over to their representatives. Furthermore, Manmayer Growlo claims to remember Brook because of a boy with an afro who served Candelle during his time in the kingdom.
The trauma that marked Brook
During the flashback, Shuri pierces Brook's head with the "Gavotte Bond en Avant" technique, the same move used by the Straw Hat Pirates' musician in the present day. After the attack, she leaves the castle alongside her father.
Although he survived, the soldiers explain that vital organs and important parts of the brain were not affected. When Brook discovers King Leuven's death, he falls into despair. The flashback ends by showing the origin of a trauma that has haunted him for decades.
Imu, Loki and Luffy's arrival
Back in the present, Brook reveals that at that time nobody knew about Devil Fruits. Therefore, for years he believed that the king's death and Gunko's demonic appearance were merely hallucinations caused by fear.
Meanwhile, the battle between Imu and Loki continues. Imu claims that saving the children was the reason for the giants' defeat 800 years ago and that history is about to repeat itself.
Thus, at the end of the chapter, Luffy appears behind Loki and delivers a powerful punch to Imu's face. Before the blow, the captain declares: "Get out of Elbaf, you bastard!". The chapter ends without a break next week.
