The manga One Piece , created by author Eiichiro Oda and published by Shueisha, has reached the historic milestone of 600 million copies in circulation worldwide . To celebrate this record, the franchise has launched a mysterious project documenting the "truth" about the protagonist Monkey D. Luffy and the legendary treasure.

Eiichiro Oda is keeping the final mystery of One Piece a secret

A special video on the official YouTube channel shows Oda writing the actual definition of One Piece on a piece of paper. Surprisingly, he tore up the sheet and kept the half with the answer in a chest, which will be submerged in the ocean until the story's conclusion. Meanwhile, Japanese newspapers like Asahi Shimbun published the top half of the message as part of an advertising campaign.

WT100 global character voting

In addition, Shueisha has launched the second edition of the World Top 100 (WT100) . Fans can choose from 1,560 characters through the official website or the One Piece Base app. Partial results will be released weekly, with the final reveal scheduled for the One Piece Day 26 event in August.
