- To Be Hero X Ep. 8: Trailer and Release Date
First, it's worth remembering what happened in One Piece 1129. After extreme use of Gear 5, Luffy lost his strength. Then, Saint Saturn appeared in his demonic form and paralyzed everyone, about to kill Luffy and Bonney. However, before that, the story shifted focus to Kuma's past, revealing the horrors he experienced as a slave of the World Government.
Kuma's Dark Past
Kuma was born in the Sorbet Kingdom, the son of Clapp, a priest descended from the feared Buccaneers. Although Clapp tried to hide his family heritage, at the age of four, Kuma was discovered and forced into slavery with his parents. From an early age, he suffered severe abuse, lost his mother, and saw his father killed simply for speaking out.
Five years later, Kuma was taken to God Valley for a barbaric event where the Celestial Dragons hunted slaves for sport. Although he tried to escape and was captured by other slaves, Ivankov and Ginny came up with a plan to survive together. Thus, a powerful friendship was born between Kuma and Ivankov, long before the creation of the Revolutionary Army.
